UFO shot down by Iran

An Iranian news service has reported that Iran has shot down a UFO.  Here's an excerpt from the report:

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has targeted and downed an unidentified shining object after sighting it over Persian Gulf waters.
"Glowing objects were sighted over the Persian Gulf. IRGC air defense targeted one of the objects successfully, forcing it to plummet and sink in the seas off Boushehr (Province)," said top regional commander, Brigadier Ali Razmjou.

Read the full report here.

There's been a lot of buzz on the internet about it, but I haven't found anything confirming what the UFO was.  I did come across one article stating that the "U.S. thus far has neither debunked or verified the shooting of 'something' over Iranian waters."

But in light of recent news about a secret nuclear enrichment facility in Iran, my guess is the UFOs were just some sort of spy aircraft.

I think what I found to be most interesting about this was that an international news source reported that a  government shot down a UFO...even if it does turn out to be something relatively mundane like a spy aircraft.  Usually you just get stories about weather balloons or meteors.

  1. Not sure what it was...at least not yet. It's possible it was a U.S. aircraft, but it could have just as well been another country too. If it was a spy aircraft, then it's possible no one will ever claim it.

Then again...maybe it was aliens. :)
