Did the Nicholas Cage movie Knowing predict the oil spill in the gulf? Or is it just a coincidence? There seems to be some buzz on the internet about this. It is an eerie similarity, but then again, you could probably find other similarities to events that occur in a movies and events that occur in the real world.
Yeah, I've seen this in a lot of movies that seem really timely that way, especially the 9-11 stuff. I'll tell you as someone who has a great deal of premonitions beforehand of disasters, they often times show up in things I'm writing and then they come true. It's entirely possible someone coming up with inspiration for the movie had one of those moments of locking onto something and in their mind it seemed quite feasible and so they inserted it into the script as part of the scenario without realizing they'd just picked up a bit of foreshadowing...
